Exploring brand flexibility through systematic iteration and packaging design.

Timeline

Fall 2025

Deliverables

Visual System Development, Product Packaging Application

Overview

The Glico Running Man billboard has connected Osaka's Dotonbori community since 1935 as a symbol of health, energy, and one of Japan's most visited attractions.

The Challenge: Create 50 variations using only the billboard's original colors and graphic elements. No new shapes. No additional palette.

BRAND TOOLKIT

Ezaki Glico Co., Ltd., the food manufacturing company that the Glico Running Man billboard belongs to, offers no official design file only what's photographed online. To overcome this, I hand-recreated each element to build a flexible brand system for my 50 iterations.

EXPLORATION

APPLICATION

This billboard sells sells nostalgic candy and snacks, like Pocky.

So I brought the exploration full circle: Pocky boxes featuring iteration-based flavor designs, complete with custom nutrition labels and flavor names that celebrate the constraint-based process.
